Helvellyn via Striding Edge

Route note

The classic approach to Helvellyn follows Striding Edge above Red Tarn before crossing the summit plateau. A separate return keeps the eastern corrie close and completes an 11.7 km circuit. Scrambling and exposed ground make this a hard hike, with the ridge providing its most serious section.
